RF series

Discover the RF type safety gear from Sautter. It reliably prevents the car or counterweight from falling by means of a roller locking mechanism. It is one of the most compact safety gears and is particularly suitable for use in freight elevators and storage and retrieval machines up to automatic highbay warehouses.

Advantages

Mounting the RF roller safety gear from Sautter on the car or counterweight is simple thanks to its compact design. The safety gear is triggered by means of an overspeed governor or slack rope device. If the defined triggering speed is exceeded, the RF blocks the system by means of the safety gear roller, thus ensuring an immediate stop.

All SLC braking devices are type-tested according to the Lift Directive 2014/33/EU.

Application area

The RF series comprises a wide range of safety gears for different loads and rail head widths, to which our experts last added further variants in 2021. According to the harmonized standard DIN EN81-20, roller safety gears are approved for slow-moving elevators with nominal speeds up to 0.63 m/s and counterweights or counterbalancing weights up to max. 1 m/s. Safety gears on counterweights or counterbalancing weights are required if there are accessible spaces below the shaft (EN81-20:5.2.5.4).

The different variants of the RF series are particularly suitable for mounting on stacker cranes. Safety gears type-tested by the manufacturer in accordance with DIN EN 81-50:2020, such as the RF series from Sautter, can be subjected to a simplified test in accordance with DIN EN 528:2021 – 5.1.3.

Our SLC series RF is used in elevator and conveyor technology for loads up to 14,000kg. The roller safety gears according to DIN EN 81-20:2020 and DIN EN 528:2021 are available in 6 different designs.
