Our development department has developed its own test rig to ensure that the safety gear triggers reliably over the long term. Here, different release rods can be tested, improved and compared with each other. In addition to the control cable tension force, several sensors record the effects on the contact force and contact torque depending on the distance of the cable grip from the centre of the rail.

SLC has also found convincing answers to any hurdles that may arise when attaching to existing carriages. For example, the interface to the existing safety gear frame can be optimised by changing the borehole pattern on the outer housings. Alternatively, an adapter plate/mounting plate can be used to adapt to existing conditions.
